Como é de conhecimento de muitos adeptos do gênero reggae, o ritmo ao longo do tempo vem perdendo muitos astros, alguns fundamentais até para o desenvolvimento do estilo mais conhecido no mundo inteiro. Este ano, no último dia 14 de janeiro, faleceu o cantor Pluto Shervington, artista querido da massa regueira do Maranhão. Pluto sempre fez sucesso nos salões de festas do estado com canções como "Dat", "Rangoat Livre", entre outras pérolas.
O cantor jamaicano começou a carreira no início dos anos 70 como membro de um grupo chamado "Tomorrows Children", inspirado em Ernie Smith e Tinga Stewart, outros grandes nomes da música. Além de seu talento como cantor, Pluto ganhou reputação como um talentoso baixista. A causa da morte do cantor, até o fechamento desta matéria, não tinha sido revelada.
